Admin event types
An event type categorizes events based on their criteria. When creating an event type, you can add multiple action types for users to pick from when building a rule that triggers this event type. You can add an event type to a rule type.
Add event type
1. Click Event Types on the left menu:
2. Click the plus button on the top right of the screen.
3. Fill out the information and click Create:
Value | Definition |
ID | The event type’s unique ID |
Name | The event type’s name |
Groups | The event type’s group |
Severity | Connected to certain alarm states |
Priority | Connected to responses to event types |
Action Types | Assign action types that were created previously |
Description | The event type’s description |
Has Lifecycle? | A checked box allows for the event to have open and closed states |
Open State | Give the open state a name if the Has Lifecycle? box has been checked. You can add multiple open states by clicking + |
Closed State | Give the close state a name if the Has Lifecycle? box has been checked. You can add multiple closed states by clicking + |
View event types
1. Click Event Types in the left menu:
2. Search or filter the event types you want to view.
